Kevin J. Mills

Kevin J. Mills

President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Kevin Mills was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Socket, as well as a member of its Board of Directors, in March, 2000 - having served previously as Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Engineering and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining Socket, Mr. Mills spent six years at Logitech, Inc., a computer peripherals company, working most recently as Director of Operations. Mr. Mills began his career as Quality Assurance Manager for NorthStar Computers Ireland. He holds a B.E. degree with honors in Electronic Engineering from the University of Limerick, Ireland.
David W. Dunlap

David W. Dunlap

Chief Financial Officer and Secretary

Mr. Dunlap joined Socket in 1995. Previously he served as Vice President of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer at several public and private technology companies including Mountain Network Solutions. Mr. Dunlap also has 14 years experience with Deloitte & Touche, the last four as an audit partner. He is a Certified Public Accountant and received an M.B.A. and B.A. in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley.
Michael L. Gifford

Founder, Executive Vice President, General Manager OEM Business Unit, and Vice President of Marketing

A co-founder of Socket, Mr. Gifford initially served as a Director. Subsequently, he served as President and CEO from 1992 to 1994 and as Executive Vice President since 1994. Prior to Socket, Mr. Gifford was a Director, Board Member and Director of Sales & Marketing for Tidewater Associates, a computer consulting and computer product development company. He also co-founded and was President of Gifford Computer Systems, a computer network integration company which was sold to publicly held Zitel Corporation in 1984. Mr. Gifford holds a B.S. with honors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
Leonard L. Ott

Leonard L. Ott

Chief Technical Officer

Mr. Ott is responsible for Socket’s strategic technical direction and also manages the company’s internal IT infrastructure. Joining Socket in March, 1994, he has held increasingly responsible positions from Senior Software Engineer to Director of Software Development. Formerly, he served as Vice President of Research and Development with Vision Network Systems. Mr. Ott is active in the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and is currently a member of the Radio Working Group. Mr. Ott also serves on the Board of Directors for the CompactFlash Association and is currently Technical Co-Chair. Additionally, Mr. Ott serves on the Board of Directors of the Secure Digital (SD) Association and is acting Chair. He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Tim Miller

Tim Miller

Vice President Worldwide Operations and Engineering

Mr. Miller brings to Socket more than 20 years of electronic products manufacturing operations management experience. He most recently served as vice president of worldwide operations at Com21, a developer of broadband technology solutions. During his tenure there, Mr. Miller was responsible for developing a virtual manufacturing model through outsourcing, while maintaining technical excellence in internal operations and transferring that capability to partners. He also implemented a host of cost reduction programs and improved and maintained gross margins and product quality. Prior to Com21, Mr. Miller held manufacturing management positions at Coactive Computing, Tidewater Associates and Morrow Computers. He holds B.S. degrees in Business Administration and Political Science from San Jose State University.
Chuck Furedy

Chuck Furedy

Senior Vice President Worldwide Sales

Mr. Furedy brings to Socket more than 30 years of experience selling data collection and mobile computing solutions with Symbol Technologies. He served as their vice president of OEM sales during a twenty-year period of rapid growth and technological change in the Automatic Identification industry.
