Well known for its glitz, glamour and golf, the haute Mediterranean beach resort town of Marbella, Spain was this year’s destination of choice for the Socket Annual Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Distributor Conference.
In May, our Platinum Plus Partners and a few select guests were invited to join us for the three-day interactive event that consisted of business meetings, round table discussions, case study presentations, group activities and an awards ceremony.
A new element added to the conference this year was round table discussion groups hosted on multiple subjects. These discussions gave everyone a chance to voice their thoughts and opinions on focused areas of importance pertaining to Socket and EMEA.
Case studies presented by both Socket and a number of our EMEA distributors were well received and generated many new ideas on ways the SoMo® 650 handheld computer could be utilized for business mobility.
This year’s main group activity was a sightseeing trip to the Rock of Gibraltar, a massive limestone formation steeped in historical and natural significance. Once a strategic location used for military purposes, the rock of Gibraltar is now primarily a nature reserve housing Europe’s only colony of wild monkeys—the Barbary Macaques.
The height of the EMEA Distributor Conference was an awards ceremony at a local renowned restaurant, La Hacienda. The ceremony recognized our top selling and fastest growing distributors: Santa Barbara of Spain and Communica Datadistribution of Sweden, respectively. We thank everyone who participated in this event and look forward to continuing the annual tradition next year.
