CHS 7X and 7XRx support for Apple iPhone and iPod touch - 2D barcode scanners now compatible with Apple iPhone and iPod touch devices running iOS 4, using the Bluetooth Human Interface Device (HID) profile.

Low-Cost Laser Barcode Scanners for Apple - In September, Socket will begin shipping low-cost, laser versions of the CHS for the Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, featuring support for both Bluetooth HID and Serial Port Profile (SPP). These versions also work with Windows, BlackBerry, and Palm devices.

Motorola (Symbol) MC1000 Support for Go Wi-Fi!® P320
The Go Wi-Fi! P320 now works with Motorola MC1000 devices running Windows CE 5.0 and Microsoft Wireless Zero Config (WZC) WLAN software. Special drivers are required, which you can download here.

Product Discontinuations

SoMo 650 devices running Windows Mobile 5

Effective October 1, 2010, Socket will no longer accept orders or ship Windows Moible 5 on the SoMo 650. An upgrade DVD is available, SKU# SW1241-893.
Now through September 30, 2010, Socket is offering an upgrade promotion, which includes the upgrade DVD, the DuraCase Deluxe Kit, and a 2600 mAh extended battery.
Socket will continue to support all Windows Mobile 5 installations, including existing levels of warranty and SocketCare technical support through the end of their warranty and service contract.
