SoMo 650 Power Plus Battery Friendly Utility Some key features of this utility include:
To learn SoMo best practices for preventing the battery from discharging quickly when not in use, please read this Customer Support Notice.
Dual-Function On/Off Button When the SoMo is on, if you press the on/off button for less than 2 seconds, then SoMo will power off. However, when the SoMo is on and you press the on/off button for more than 2 seconds, it will turn off the backlight (not the display), but any active applications will stay running, and any active wireless connections will stay connected. Why is this a useful feature? The display is one of the most power-consuming components of the SoMo. With a simple key depression, you can extend the life of the battery by turning off the backlight. This can also be done with the Hold Switch utility.
Sprite Backup Software From a device management perspective, Sprite Backup makes the SoMo 650 even more enterprise-ready by assisting support teams and companies deploying a number of handheld devices in the field and making it easy for them to restore data should they encounter any issues. In addition, there are various levels of restore capabilities, so you don't always have to perform a complete restore of your device--you can bring back selective parts if necessary. A 30-day trial version of Sprite Backup comes installed on new SoMo 650 handheld computers running Service Pack 5 and up. For more information, please visit our STAR Program website. STAR Program
