The Wi-Fi Companion SDK consists of the binary Windows DLLs and documentation for developers to use to create their own 802.11 client software for Windows CE and Windows Mobile.

The SDK contains APIs to control and query the Wi-Fi profiles, network configuration parameters and wireless performance statistics. The SDK supports most mainstream 802.11 radio hardware and drivers found in Pocket PCs today. It supports WEP, PSK and WPA. The Wi-Fi Companion SDK is designed for use by programmers familiar with 802.11 networking concepts and with the Wi-Fi alliance WPA standard. Endusers will be able to manage wireless profiles in software so they can connect wirelessly at work, home, or public access hotspots using different settings.
