JOB DESCRIPTION

Socket Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: SCKT), a leading provider of mobile data collection and manufacturer of Bluetooth barcode scanner and contactless reader/writer is looking to expand its IT development team with an individual who is passionate about new technologies and the mobile world.

The product manager oversees all communications for the audience of Socket Mobile SDK.

Mission

The firmware engineer’s mission is to add and retire features in our current products and migrate our existing products to Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

This position will face the challenges of maintaining the code while improving the power consumption and the speed of operation to make our current product even better.

In the goal of making our products vibrant and relevant, the ideal candidate would suggest ways of improving the product and the user experience by adding new features.

Responsibilities

  • Adding new features in the product
  • Maintaining the firmware
  • Proposing new improvements
  • Maintaining the documentation
  • Adapt the firmware to hardware changes
  • Provide and maintain build scripts to build locally, or from a CI build machine

Experience

  • 5+ year of developing firmware
  • 3+ year of developing firmware using Bluetooth
  • Strong in RTOS development using C / C++
  • Familiar with toolchains IDE such asMPLAB X
  • Familiar with Git source control operations such as clone, fork, pull, fetch, PR, rebase, merge, checkout

Location

California Bay Area, should be able to come to the office

Must be legally able to work in the U.S. - no visa sponsoring.
