OCR-A is a font created in 1968 that uses simple, thick strokes to form recognizable characters.  The font is monospaced and the design is simple so that it can be easily read by a scanner.

OCR-A is supported by default on all Socket Mobile barcode scanners. You can enable or disable this symbology on your Socket Mobile scanner simply by scanning the codes below.  Note: Scanner must be in a disconnected state before scanning the command barcode.
