and developing content and content strategies to reach new audiences.
Job Summary
The RMA & Rework Technician is responsible for testing, verifying, and refurbishing of incoming RMA units from the field in a timely manner at a high level of quality. This position will also support the production and quality teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Responsibilities & Duties (what you'll do)
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and test customer returned product.
- Repair and refurbish product to production level quality.
- Function as the point of escalation from Support and Engineering on Failure Analysis activities.
- Provide technical expertise in quoting and performing rework projects.
- Assist with documenting and communicating hardware quality issues to appropriate department.
- Work with Test Engineering to optimize Production and RMA test coverage.
- Identify reoccurring issues and share knowledge with others to assist with defect prevention.
- Conduct and document Failure Analysis activities on suspect router and modem devices
- Assist in maintaining RMA Metrics.
- Maintain acceptable levels of RMA inventory.
- Assist with process documentation.
- Support other departments within Operations as needed.
- Participate in continuously improving the RMA department and RMA process.
Skills & Qualifications (what we're looking for)
- Ability to proficiently communicate defect and root cause information to engineering, production, or tech support Proficient at performing solder/rework on electronic devices
- Capability to work both independently and as a team
- Interest in computers and computer networking devices
- Possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office tools such as Word and Excel is necessary.
- Able to perform effectively with high quality and little direct supervision
Hours & Location
This is a full-time, non-exempt position working the hours of 6:00 am – 2:30 pm at our Fremont headquarters.
