OCR-A Overview

OCR-A is a font created in 1968 that uses simple, thick strokes to form recognizable characters.  The font is monospaced and the design is simple so that it can be easily read by a scanner.

You can enable or disable this symbology on your Socket Mobile scanner simply by scanning the codes below. Note: Scanner must be in a disconnected state before scanning the command barcode.

Note: D740, D745, and S740 supports OCR symbologies if your scanner has a Green scan LED.

Note: OCR-A is commonly used on checks and is scanned just like a passport/travel document.
